The Design Process

Where Your Story Begins...

At DeJane Unlimited, many of our pieces are thoughtfully created through a custom design process. Whether you are ordering a memory quilt, a custom embroidered piece, or something from one of our collections, each piece is thoughtfully designed with your story at the center.

You don't need to have everything figured out—that's what I'm here for.

The Design Process

Every heirloom quilt or custom project begins with a brief consultation where we explore:

Your vision and ideas
The materials or garments you'd like to use
The story behind your piece
Colors, styles, or preferences you love
How the finished piece will be used

This helps us create a design that reflects your story.

Design & Fabric Selection

Within 1–3 days of our consultation, you'll receive carefully curated fabric palettes to review. Take your time choosing the one that speaks to you, and once you approve your favorite, we'll move forward with your design.

If small adjustments are needed, we can make them before materials are purchased.

Approval

Once you have approved your palette and design, we'll finalize the details and prepare to bring your vision to life. Once we are ready to begin production on your piece we will purchase materials specifically for your project. Changes cannot be made after this step.

Deposit

A deposit is required on all projects. The amount varies based on your project and level of customization.

Your deposit will secure your place in our schedule and is applied toward your final balance. We'll provide clear payment details during your consultation.

Creation

Your item is lovingly handmade in the DeJane Unlimited studio. Every stitch, seam, and detail is crafted with care and attention. Here are our typical production timelines:

Custom embroidery: 1–2 weeks
Handmade bags: 2–4 weeks
Memory quilts: 4–6 weeks

You will be notified when your piece is complete and ready to ship. Production times may vary slightly.
